Switzerland is hosting an emergency meeting over the weekend among diplomats in the latest attempt to end bloodshed in Syria.
Demonstrations have been increasing calling on God to help them as anger spreads across Syria.
The Geneva meeting is hoped by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon to be a turning point in the leaders’ efforts to end the turmoil which has consumed thousands of lives over the last 16 months.
Five permanent members of the UN Security Council, together with envoys from Turkey, the UN, EU and Arab League were invited by Annan to work together on the common goal to bring peace to Syria.
