Malta-flag cargo ship runs aground off Andros, crew uninjured
A Malta-flagged cargo ship ran aground early this morning on a rocky outlet off the island of Andros, Greece, resulting in a small take-in of water.
All 10 crew members - 8 Ukrainians and 2 Russians - were reportedly safe and uninjured, and a Coast Guard vessel dispatched the scene was on stand-by to provide assistance if needed.
The Harbor Authority told AMNA that the ship's owner company had hired a private diver to inspect the damage to the ship before a plan for its dislodgement was started.
No marine pollution was reported. The cargo ship was sailing without cargo from Halkida to Romania.
