Shooting in New York leaves two dead and eight injured
In the third shooting incident in the US this summer, a disgruntled employee takes to shooting nine people before being shot down and killed outside the Empire State Building.
At least eight were wounded and two killed in a shooting outside the Empire State Building in New York just hours ago.
The New York police said the bloody scene caused chaos and shocked tourists and commuters alike outside the landmark tourist attraction. One of the two killed was the shooter.
No apparent link to terrorism was established by the police who said the assailant worked close to the scene and was firing at a person who caused him grievance.
The shooting began around 9am in the morning on Fifth Avenue and witnesses saw a man shot down but many onlookers were interested in taking videos and photos of the victim.
This is the third case of mass shooting in summer 2012 after a man killed 12 people and injured 58 during the screening of Batman “The Dark Knight Rises” in Colorado. Another gunman, who was later killed, took the lives of six and injured three at a Sikh temple close to Milwaukee earlier this month.
