A strong 7.4-magnitude earthquake has struck in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of El Salvador, the United States Geological Survey has said.
The epicentre of the quake on Sunday night was located 111km south of the city of Puerto El Triunfo, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said on Monday.
The center issued a tsunami warning for all Central American nations and Mexico, though it was not yet known if a tsunami had been generated from the quake, which occurred at a depth of 54km.
No reports of casualties or damage were immediately available.
