Five terror suspects extradited to US
The UK High Court passed a final ruling resulting in the extradition of five terror suspects including cleric Abu Hamza al-Masri to the US.
Five terror suspects were extradited from the UK to the US to face charges, including the radical cleric Abu Hamza al-Masri.
The five suspects were sent in separate airplanes to the states of Connecticut and New York this morning with Abu Hamza thought to be on the second plane to New York.
The deportation took place after a final appeal was dismissed by UK High Court judges saying that the five suspects failed to show any reason to remain in the UK.
Hostage taking, conspiracy to set up a militant training camp and calling for holy war in Afghanistan are among the 11 charges faced by Abu Hamza within 24 hours of arriving in the US.
Khaled al-Fawwaz and Adel Abdul Bary face charges of assisting Osama Bin Laden in London while Babar Ahmad and Talha Ahsan will be facing charges related to running a pro-jihad website.
