At least 10 people have been killed and about 90 injured after a suicide bomber blew himself up in the Iraqi city of Kirkuk, apparently targeting an office of the Kurdistan Democratic Party.

The attack on Wednesday struck in the centre of the ethnically-mixed northern city, where the attacker detonated a car bomb.

Police say the blast was caused by a car driven by a suicide bomber.

Although sectarian violence has decreased in Iraq since the height of the insurgency in 2006 and 2007, attacks are still common.
