Inspire Foundation will benefit from an €840,000 annual facility that will increase by 5% over three years.

Inspire's specialised centre Razzetta tal-Hbiberija, which assists parents and children with a disability, will benefit from the grant to give clients a higher quality of service.

Parents will benefit from a subsidy of up to 76% for their children to attend specialized programmes. Every child up to school age who is referred from the students' services department for services at Inspire will benefit from programmes costed at between €2,454 to €6,872 per child a year.

Education minister Dolores Cristina said the agreement was government's commitment to a number of children who would benefit from this service, apart from the fact that better accountability would be present for the dispensation of these funds.

Cristina said that Malta had the lowest rate in Europe of children with special needs who do not attend mainstream schools, testifying to the high level of integration of these children in such schools.
