Hamas commander in Gaza killed by air strike

The Islamist group that rules the Palestinian territory said today that an Isreali air strike has killed a Hamas military commander and rocket maker in the Gaza Strip.

Issa Batran, the Hamas Commander was killed by a missile that hit his caravan in the central Gaza Strip.

The air strike took place after a rocket was fired from the enclave exploded in the city of Ashkelonon, Israel’s Mediterranean coast on Friday.

Israel responded by launching air strikes against targets in Gaza. The air strikes also hit a training camp in Gaza City used by Hamas and smuggling tunnels along Gaza’s southern border with Egypt.
