UK to call for a new relationship with Pakistan

United Kingdom’s Prime Minister David Cameron will call for the UK and Pakistan for a “fresh start” and work together in the interests of both.

As he sets for a visit in Pakistan, David Cameron said his visit will mark “a new chapter” in the relations between both countries. The two countries work closely together in the fight against international terrorism.

News media report that in his speech, Cameron will tell Pakistan, “we want a strong relationship with a secure, prosperous, open and flourishing Pakistan. We want that relationship for the long-term. We want to work to strengthen that relationship, now and in the future.”

Cameron will emphasise on the need for a fresh start in the relationship both between the two countries and their citizens. He will also urge Pakistan to clear the misunderstandings of the past, and look together to the opportunities of the future.

"Whether it is relations with India, our security, or questions of governance, if we work closely with one another, if we are clear that we need each other to succeed, we can grasp these difficult issues and move beyond them,” Cameron will say.
