Italy-France to patrol coast off Tunisia

he announcement was made in Milan by Italian Interior Minister Roberto Maroni at the end of a meeting with his French counterpart Claude Gueant.

Thousands of Tunisians have fled Tunisia to Lampedusa following the recent uprising that toppled President Ben Ali.

The migrants, were given temporary permits to reside in Italy, prompting French anger as the permits meant that the migrants would travel up to France.
