Libya's Obeidi crosses into Tunisia, headed for Cyprus

UPDATED | The Tunisian government has confirmed reports that Libya's acting foreign minister Abdelati al-Obeidi has crossed into Tunisia late this morning and is headed to Djerba declaring to border guards that he is expected to travel to Cyprus.

Informed sources  explained that Obeidi - who was in Malta last week as an envoy with a message from Col. Gaddafi for the Maltese government - may be heading for the United Kingdom rather than Cyprus.

Obeidi was reportedly with defecting foreign minister Mousa Kousa when he fled to London two weeks ago, but hurriedly returned to Libya.
