U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in Afghanistan for talks with the Afghan president and other government officials.
At a meeting at the US embassy in Kabul, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, said, “I’m here to have a reality check”. Clinton was speaking with activists from women’s groups, political parties and media organizations.
“The changes that I have seen in Afghanistan are very encouraging but they must be made permanent and that can only happen if there is a consensus within the country about what kind of future you are seeking,” news agency Reuters reports her as saying.
CNN reports that Clinton is expected to highlight her country’s commitment to a stable and secure Afghanistan in her discussions with Afghan President Hamid Karzai.
