Three tourists killed in Egypt bus explosion
At least three reported dead and a further 14 wounded in a blast at Taba crossing in Sinai near Israeli border
At least three South Korean tourists have been killed in an explosion on a tourist bus in Egypt's troubled Sinai region, reports have said.
Israeli police have confirmed that an explosion was heard from the Egyptian side of the border. The deadly explosion on the bus laden with tourists occurred after the bus entered Egypt from Israel.
At least three tourists have been killed and a further 14 were wounded. Officials said 32 tourists were on board the bus.
The Sinai region near the Israeli border has since many explosions and was the scene of a deadly attacks before. In 2004, the Taba Hilton hotel was bombed, leaving 34 people dead - most Egyptians and Israelis.
But Taba, a resort area popular with Israelis and many foreign tourists, has rarely been the seen of attacks on tourists.
The cause of the explosion was not immediately clear, but officials believe it was either a car bomb or a roadside bomb.
No group has since claimed responsibility for the attack but officials have said that the troubled region is home to many militias.
Sinai has been rocked by several attacks since the removal of Islamist president Mohammed Morsi last July. Groups have also confirmed to have carried out attacks in Cairo and other cities.
