Max Clifford guilty of eight counts of indecent assault

Celebrity publicist accused of indecent assault on girls as young as 15
 

Publicist Max Clifford has been found guilty of indecently assaulting several women and girls, some as young as 15, between 1977 and 1985.

The verdict followed a six-week trial, after which the jury found the 71-year old guilty of eight counts of indecent assualt, not guilty on two others and were undecided about one other. The trial uncovered Clifford's bullying and manipulation of teenage girls into performing sex acts with the promise that he would make them stars.

Clifford was released on bail and will be sentenced on Friday in the first conviction under Scotland Yard's Operation Yewtree

Clifford represented Michelangelo and Rina Attard in 2000, when their conjoined twin daughters were surgically separated, leading to media attention from around the globe. Clifford reportedly took 20% of the couple's earnings from media deals he brokered.
