An American doctor infected with Ebola is making progress a day after he arrived in Atlanta from Liberia, where he contracted the deadly virus.

Dr. Kent Brantley, the first American Ebola patient, is receiving treatment at Emory Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.

A second American aid worker, missionary Nancy Writebol, 59, who contracted the Ebola virus in West Africa is expected to arrive in Atlanta today in serious condition, while a New York hospital is testing a man with symptoms of the deadly disease.

The man, who came into a New York hospital's emergency room on Monday morning with a high fever and a stomach ache, was in "good condition" and results of tests to find the cause of his symptoms are expected today, hospital officials said at a news conference.
