Two killed in Paris building collapse
The explosion is believed to have been caused by a gas leak, officials said.
A child and an 80-year-old woman were killed yesterday morning when a four-story building in a Paris suburb collapsed following an explosion, French authorities said.
Ten people were pulled from the rubble, including four who were seriously wounded. Rescue teams were still looking for more survivors.
The explosion, which took place about 7 a.m. local time, is believed to have been caused by a gas leak, officials said.
Television images of the building, in the suburb of Rosny-Sous-Bois, showed a facade ripped off completely, exposing the interiors of the apartments inside.
