Australian teenager with Maltese name killed in shark attack

Jay Muscat of Albany, WA was mauled by what is thought to be a great white shark while spearfishing

Australian news sources confirm that a teenager of Maltese extraction has been killed in a shark attack in Cheynes Beach, Albany in Western Australia.

Young Jay Muscat, of Albany, an avid fisherman whose family runs a small business in the area, was spearfishing with his friend at the time. It is understood that the attack occurred when the shark, thought to be a 4-5m long great white, was speared by the other diver.

Jay was pulled from the water by a holidaymaker staying at the local caravan park but died soon after.
