Italy mourns Sandra Mondaini

The news comes as a shock to Italy who has mourned Mondaini's husband Raimondo Vianello five months ago.

The couple were very much loved by millions of Italians, who followed them on a series of TV shows that were aired on Rai and Mediaset from 1958 to 2005.

Mondaini and Vianello never had children but adopted two philippino youths, who were by her side on her death bed.
