Cargo plane crashes during take-off at South Sudan international airport, leaving an estimated 40 people dead, and many others injured
A cargo plane has crashed during take-off near the international airport in South Sudan's capital Juba, leaving some 40 people dead and many casualties, but numbers have not yet been confirmed, according to a BBC report.
Local reporters add that some 40 bodies were counted at the wreck site, but it remains unclear how many of the victims were on the plane and how many were on the ground.
According to Juba's Radio Miraya, the Russian-built plane was heading to Paloch in Upper Nile State, and crashed just 800m from the runway.
Reuters news agency reports that there were at least two survivors, a crew member and a child who was on board.
