EU forms new alliance to address climate change
The European Union will be pooling in €475 million to fund and support partner countries
As the COP21 meeting in Paris draws close to an end, the European Union has formed an alliance with 79 countries in Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific.
Reports are saying that the countries have managed to find common ground on major issues related to climate change. The agreement will be up for review every five years.
Climate Commissioner for Climate for the EU, Miguel Arias Canate said that the new Paris Agreement must be legally binding, inclusive and robust. He insists that it must present long-term ideologies.
The EU is set to pool in €475 million to fund and support this climate action plan in partner countries.
