Homs suicide bombing claims 32
32 people are thought to have lost their lives when two explosions rocked the Syrian city of Homs today.
According to reports recieved from the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, 90 people were injured in the blasts, which were possibly caused by both car bombs and suicide attacks. The Syrian state news agency SANA is attributing both blasts to car bombs.
The explosions are the second large scale attack in Homs since a ceasefire deal, allowing the government to retake the last rebel-controlled area of the city, was struck in December.
Nobody has claimed responsibility for today's bombings, but ISIL had admitted to carrying out a similar attack on December 12th, in which 16 people were killed.
The human rights monitoring group reports that civilians are partially blaming local government officials for the attacks, saying that they had been focusing too closely on securing a truce and lost sight of the larger security picture.
