Gunman kills one, shoots himself at Sydney factory
Hours-long siege at Sydney factory ends with gunman shooting himself
A gunman who has engaged police in an hours-long standoff at a Sydney factory has shot himself dead according to international media.
The gunman went on a rampage at the industrial unit on Monday morning, killing a man and leaving two others injured, according to reports.
The BBC reports that police quickly surrounded the premises, which is located in the industrial suburb of Ingleburn in the city's southwest, and that the two injured men were transported to Liverpool Hospital where they were certified as being in a stable condition.
Reports from various sources claim that the gunman’s death came shortly after three people were seen leaving the building and entering a police vehicle, but it has not been confirmed whether they were hostages.
According to reports a man was arrested at the scene, but police say he was detained for "hindering" the investigation.
