14 injured in Turkey suicide bomb attack

An explosion occurred near a bus stop in Diyarbakir, Turkey

An explosion occurred near a bus stop in Turkey’s predominantly Kurdish city of Diyarbakir, local media report.

The blast reportedly took place as an armored vehicle was passing the bus station. Reuters report that the attack was on police special forces.

Broadcaster Haberturk TV said the blast hit near a bus station in the city, the largest in the mainly Kurdish southeast. Ambulances rushed to the scene, Haberturk said.

The southeast has been scorched by waves of violence since a ceasefire between the militant Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) and the government collapsed last July, Reuters reported.
