Clinton becomes presumptive democratic party presidential nominee
Hillary Clinton has been confirmed as the democratic party nominee for US presidency after reaching the required number of delegates
According to the Associated Press, Clinton gained 2,383 votes, which was the number needed to make her the presumptive nominee.
She will become the first female nominee for a major US political party.
Nevertheless, the BBC reports that her rival, Bernie Sanders, has said Clinton had not won as she was dependent on superdelegates who could not vote until July's party convention.
