Heart problems land Berlusconi in hospital
79-year-old former Italian premier not in life-threatening situation
Former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has been hospitalised in Milan with a heart problem.
A spokesman for Forza Italia said his condition was not life-threatening.
The 79-year-old centre-right leader held the office of Prime Minister four times.
San Raffaele hospital said in a statement that Berlusconi was suffering from a “cardiac deficiency” and will undergo tests in the next few days" to determine the best therapy.
Berlusconi already has a pacemaker, which was fitted in the US nine years ago when he was 70.
