At least 13 have been killed and 48 wounded in a car bomb attack on a bus carrying off-duty troops in the city of Kayseri, Turkey.

The bus was hit as it drove past the car, Turkish media reported.

Soldiers, as well as a number of civilians, were taken to a hospital for treatment according to a military statement.

The explosion comes a week after 44 people were killed on December 10 in a double bombing in Istanbul after a football match. The attack was claimed by Kurdish militants.
