Three nuns, one Maltese, killed on their way to Christmas Mass

Three nuns, one from Malta, one from Italy and another one from Jerusalem were killed in a car accident in Israel.

The five nuns were on their way to celebrate Christmas Mass in Bethlehem when their car swerved off the road between the communities of Yardena and Beit Yosef in the Jordan Valley. It hit a concrete foundation holding a road lamp.

Two of the women died immediately on the scene. The third one succumbed to her injuries later at Rambam Medical Center in Haifa.

Local authorities have identified the nun from Malta, with Italian nationality, as Savatorina Muscat.
