Olympics medallist charged with drug offences
Three-time Olympian Jack Bobridge has appeared in a Perth court charged with drug offences
Dual Olympic silver medal cyclist and former world champion Jack Bobridge has appeared in a Perth court charged with drug offences, the Herald Sun reports.
The 28-year-old South Australian appeared in Perth Magistrates Court on Thursday charged with five counts of drug possession and another count of possessing MDMA with the intent to sell or supply.
The three-time Olympian was charged after police searched a Yokine home and North Perth business on Wednesday as part of an operation targeting drug dealing at licensed venues in Perth’s entertainment district.
Bobridge, who hails from Gawler, retired from professional cycling late last year due to rheumatoid arthritis. He now runs a cycling gym and fitness studio in Perth.
He is set to return to court at a later date.
