Barak to ‘break away’ from Israeli labour
Israeli Defence Minister Ehud Barak will break away from the Labour party he heads in the coalition government to form a new faction, a parliamentary official said this morning.
It was not immediately clear what effect the surprise move, which the official said Barak announced in a letter to parliament, would have on the government.
