[WATCH] Palestinians protest over Trump declaration
Israel has increased security in Jerusalem ahead of Palestinian protests over Trump's decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

Palestinians have been protesting Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
Israel has stepped up security in Jerusalem on Friday ahead of a declared Palestinian "day of rage" in the holy city. Israeli forces are on high alert for the protests, with hundreds of extra police deployed in Jerusalem’s Old City, and additional battalions sent to the West Bank.
Egyptian security forces also blocked Abd el-Khalik Tharwat Street in Cairo to prevent protesters from reaching the US Embassy.

UN security council are to meet to discuss the US decision amid widespread international condemnation and violence in occupied territories.
Palestinians and Arabs are making their anger known as several protests started taking place on Friday.
The decision was denounced by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, who said that the US had effectively given up its role as arbiter in the peace process in the region.

Protests initially broke out Thursday in Jerusalem as well as the West Bank and Gaza and in Muslim countries around the world. On Friday, the protests increased in Jerusalem's Old city, Hebron, Qalqiliya, south Gaza - Amman, Zarqa, Karak, Irbid, Cairo near al-Azhar, in front of the Fatih Mosque in Istanbul, and a Protest in Baghdad.
Thousands of pro-Palestinian protesters have also held noisy demonstrations in Jordan, Egypt and Iran.
Dozens of Palestinians have been hurt in the violence as protesters fought troops.
The Palestinian Authority have announced that the US vice-president, Mike Pence, would “not be welcome in Palestinian Territories” when he travels to the region later this month.
