Priceless Tutankhamun statue stolen from Cairo's musuem

Eight priceless historical items – amongst which a statue of Egyptian Pharaoh Tutankhamon – were stolen from Cairo’s museum.

The news was confirmed by Egypt’s minister for archeology Zahi Nawas who said that the priceless gold cladded statue of Tutankhamun hunting on a papyrus boat was stolen when thugs broke into the musuem and ran off with historical artefacts during the recent uprisings that toppled President Hosni Mubarak.
