Mubarak reportedly in coma, flown to Germany

According to Italian newspaper la Repubblica, Mubarak had reportedly lost consciousness twice during the recording of the fateful speech during which he flirted with relinquishing power but refused to bow down to what he described “pressures from abroad.”

Reports place Mubarak either at his residence in Sharm El-Sheikh, currently receiving medical care. The Repubblica cites Eghyptian newspaper Al Masri Al Youm which reported that the former dictator is being cured at home pending the decision to move him to a hospital.

The reports of Mubarak’s repeated loss of consciousness during the recording of his last broadcast as president were cited to Egyptian local media, among which Al Ahram.

According to presents by French JSS News, Mubarak is currently battling for his life in a hospital in Baden, Germany – a claim that German government has already denied in statements by Steffen Seibert, German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s spokesperson.
