Tunis hit by suicide bomb attack
A female suicide bomber has injured nine people including eight police officers on Habib Bourguiba avenue in Tunisia
A female suicide bomber has detonated a bomb in Central Tunis, injuring nine people.
“A woman has launched a suicide bomb attack in central Tunis, injuring nine people,” the Tunisian interior ministry of the attack, which happened on Habib Bourguiba avenue, Tunis.
Police have since cordoned off the area on Habib Bourgubia avenue, which is close to the Tunisian capital’s landmark Municipal theatre.
Ambulances could be heard rushing to the scene.

Local news agency TAP reported that the explosion occurred in front of the Palmarium shopping centre.
According to the interior ministry, eight policemen were among the injured.
“I was in front of the theatre and heard a huge explosion and saw people fleeing,” said witness Mohamed Ekbal bin Rajib.
