Father suspected of murdering wife and children
French police are searching for Xavier Dupont de Ligonnes who is suspected of having murdered his wife and four children and buried them in their garden.
Police said they had found the car of Dupont de Ligonnes in a hotel car park in a town in southeastern France, after bank withdrawals showed he was in the area.
After disappearing at the beginning of April, the bodies of the mother, 49, and her children, aged 13 to 20, were found today buried in the garden of their house in Nantes.
The local prosecutor told French media they had “very likely been killed with a firearm.” The bodies were found with bullet holes in them.
Ronsin also said the father worked as a tourism consultant. However, correspondence sent to relatives reads he was a secret US agent and was working on a drug case.
