While the Inter coaching saga drags on, a new name has popped up to be added to the long list of available candidates.
According to Italian website calciomercato.it, Quiquw Sanchez Flores’ agent has confirmed his client would be happy to take the job.
“We have not received any proposal from Inter, but my client would certainly be happy to come to Italy,” agent Manuel Garcia Quilon told Calciomercato.it.
“If Inter were to suggest he take the job, my client would gladly accept an offer.”
Sanchez Flores’ agent is the same agent that former Inter coach Rafa Benitez works with.
As a player Quique Sanchez Flores has won the Segunda Division with Valencia in the 1986-97 season and he won the 1994-95 La Liga title with Real Madrid.
As a manager, Sanchez Flores has been very successful. With Benifica he won the Taca da Liga in 2008-09. With Atletico Madrid he was very successful winning the UEFA Europa League title in season 2009-10 season. His team defeated Inter to lift the UEFA Super Cup in 2010 and he was the runner up in the 2009-10 Coppa de Ray.
Sanchez Flores until now managed five teams in his coaching career. He started with the Real Madrid youth team between 2001 and 2003.
He went on to coach Getafe between 2004 and 2005 and then moved on to coach Valencia between 2005-2007. He had a one year spell with Benfica in the 2008-2009 season and finally his most successful club Atletico Madrid, from 2009-2011.
