AEK Larnaca humiliate Floriana

Just four minutes into the match, AEK started what would be a very long evening for the Greens.

AEK’s Edwin Linssen served Miljan Mrdakovic with a perfect cross to have the latter head the ball in past the Floriana goalkeeper.

AEK Larnaca doubled the score on the 8^th minute.  A freekick by Kyriakos Pavlou was not held by goalkeeper Matthew Towns.

Gonzalo Garcia made 3-0 when he found the back of the net with a shot from close range.

AEK Larnaca did not waste any time to extend their lead as just one minute later Njongo Priso’s perfect pass found Edwin Linssen who then made no mistake by beating Matthew Towns with his shot.

On the 42^nd minute AEK made it 5-0 when Gonzalo Garcia’s diagonal shot beat the Floriana goalkeeper.

The second half was not any different as AEK Larnaca continued to rip Floriana apart.

On the 53^rd minute, Gonzalo Garcia scored his third goal of the match to make it 6-0. Off a rebound from a header by Mrdakovic that was partially saved by Floriana goalkeeper Matthew Towns, Gonzalo Garcia slotted the ball in.

On the 74^th  minute, AEK made it 7-0. Sunny Kingsley served substitute Ruben Gomez who then found the back of the net with his shot.

On the 84^th minute, AEK scored the eighth and final goal of the match. Nestor Mytidis beat Matthew Tows with his overhead kick to make the final score 8-0.

Floriana face an almost impossible task to turn over this result when they face AEK Larnaca in the second leg on 21 July.
