Inter cancels Malta trip
Inter Milan have cancelled their trip to Malta where the team was scheduled to play against local champions Valletta on August 21.
Maltatoday has been informed that due to the high temperatures on the island during August, Inter coach Gian Piero Gasperini has decided not to make the trip to Malta.
Last Monday, Valletta FC president Victor Sciriha made the announcement that Inter will be coming to Malta to play against the Maltese champions.
Maltatoday has also been informed that Sciriha is trying to convince the Italian giants to reconsider, but the chances of Inter playing in Malta have become very remote.
Switzerland has been named as the new destination for Inter to play their final friendly before the Serie A season starts in August.
Inter’s first match of the season will be against Lecce at the San Siro.
