Inter in talks with Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala over mega-deal for Samuel Eto’o

Wesley Sneijder admits making contact with Manchester United.

Inter’s star striker Samuel Eto’o could be on his way to Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala if they reach a deal worth €115 million.

Directors representing the Russian side have met with Inter’s Marco Branca over the possible transfer of Samuel Eto’o.

Speaking to Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport, Branca said: "There has been an informal meeting and we have listened to Anzhi's offer. But because we are dealing with an important player, this is not a move that can be solved quickly. We will talk again."

It is being reported that Anzhi is prepared to offer inter €35 million for Samuel Eto’o. A four-year deal worth €20 million per season, more than double his current wage with Inter is being prepared for the striker. This amount of money could convince Eto’o to make the switch even though he will not be playing in any prestigious competitions.

Anzhi’s financial muscle could possibly convince Inter president Massimo Moratti to conclude the deal as Inter are reportedly trying to offload some of their highest earners this summer to stay in line with UEFA’s financial fair play regulations.

As all eyes are focused on the Samuel Eto’o situation, Wesley Snejder is another Inter player that could be on his way out as well.

Sneijder has been linked with a €36m bid from Manchester City, though they have denied making any such offer for the playmaker.

A move to Manchester United has surfaced again after Sneijder himself admitted that he had unofficial talks with the English giants.

During a video interview on Dutch website nos.nl, Sneijder was asked if he had been in talks with the English Premier League champions.

“Yes, but Manchester United haven't made an official approach yet. There have been unofficial talks, there have been contacts, but then there are always contacts. I have contacts with everybody.”

“The situation is that I am now an Inter player, and chances are that I will still be that come August 31. There is also a chance I could leave,” continued Sneijder.

“That isn't really down to me but the club. I think Inter have been very clear. If a good offer comes in, they have to let me go.

“They don't want to lose me but there is a chance they will let me go. If something crosses my path, I have enough time to make my decision,” concluded Sneijder.
