Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech out for four weeks
Chelsea have started their new campaign on a sour note as they have to do without their number one goalkeeper Petr Cech.
Cech took a bad fall towards the end of Wednesday’s training session and suffered a knee injury.
Scans later revealed that the Czech Republic international has suffered medial Ligament damage.
New Chelsea coach will have to call on either Ross Turnball or Henrique Hilario to replace Petr Cech.
Villas-Boas said: "Petr Cech yesterday suffered a medial ligament injury and will be out for three to four weeks. It was the end of training, a normal training incident. He fell awkwardly with his weight on top of him. We expected much worse when we saw the incident.''
