Manchester United put three past Tottenham

Manchester United continued their title defence by defeating Tottenham Hotspurs 3-0 yesterday evening at Old Trafford.

All the three goals arrived in the second half for United.

On the 61st minute, Tom Cleverley’s fierce cross was met in the air by Welbeck, who drifted in between the Tottenham centre-backs unmarked and guided the ball into the left hand corner of Friedel’s goal.

United doubled the score on the 76th minute. Welbeck gave a perfect back heeled  pass to Anderson who then worked his way past the Tottenham defence to give his side a two-goal advantage.

Wayne Rooney put the match to sleep on the 86th minute. Off a Ryan Giggs' cross Rooney headed the ball into the back of the net to cap a convincing display from the current Premier League champions.
