The La Liga football strike has been called off after the an agreement has been reached in the seventh round of talks between the LFP and the AFE.

Spain’s professional football league (LFP) and the players’ union (AFE) have finally reached an agreement to end the strike that saw the first round of Primera and Segunda Division football not take place last weekend.

Following the meeting that took place on Thursday, the two parties have come to an agreement and this weekend’s games will go ahead as normal. Last weekend’s matches have been rescheduled for another date which could be in May or June.

The AFE called the strike on August 11 after their demand that clubs pay the players any outstanding wages. The figure was later revealed to be in the range of €50 million that affects approximately 200 players.
