Roma crash out of Europa League
Roma were eliminated from the UEFA Europa League yesterday evening after playing to a 1-1 draw to Slovan Bratislava
Roma were ousted from the competition with a 2-1 aggregate in Slovan Bratislava’s favour.
Simone Perrotta scored on the 11th minute to cancel out Slovan Bratislaba’s first-leg advantage.
Late into the second half with just nine minutes remaining the Serie A giants were made to pay when Peter Stepanovsky scored.
Roma’s city rivals Lazio had a totally different outcome. The Italians defeated Rabotnicki 3-1 to go through to the group stage with a 9-1 aggregate.
Another shock elimination was Sevilla. The Spanish side were eliminated on a 3-2 aggregate after they played to a 1-1 draw against Hannover.
