Hibernians edge past Marsaxlokk

Edison Luis Dos Santos did not wait long before he gave Hibernians the lead. On the 18^th minute, Steve Pisani’s cross was picked up by Edison Luis Dos Santos who then dribbled past Marsaxlokk goalkeeper Reuben Gauci to place the ball the back of the net.

Hibernians doubled the score just ten minutes later when Steve Pisani served Triston Caruana with a perfect pass. Caruana then found no problem to beat goalkeeper Reuben Gauci with his shot to give Hibernians a two goal advantage.

Marsaxlokk managed to get back into the match just two minutes before the first half ended. Emiliano Lattes setup up Obinna Obiefule with the latter dribbling past Hibs goalkeeper Mario Muscat to slot the ball in.

Marsaxlokk made matters worse for themselves after they were reduced to ten men on the 64^th minute. Trevor Templeman was sent off by referee Chris Lautier for retaliation.

On the 70^th minute, Edison Luis Dos Santon was very close to scoring another goal for Hibernians when his attempt hit the woodwork.
