Birkirkara defeat Mosta with ease

Birkirkara defeated newly promoted side Mosta 3-1 to register their second win in as many matches.

Birkirkara were the dominant side throughout the match.

Birkirkara scored the first goal of the match as early as the 10th minute. Off Leighton Grech’s corner kick, Alan Tabone served Moises Avila Perez who easily scored from close range.

Just before the end of the first half, Moises Avila Perez scored his second goal of the match for Birkirkara. Trevor Cilia passed to Moises Avila Perez who then beat goalkeeper Jonathan Debono with his shot.

Birkirkara were reduced to ten-men just eleven minutes into the second half when Andrew Decesare picked up his second yellow card.

Being a man down did not make any difference for Birkirkara as Trevor Cilia managed to beat goalkeeper Jonathan Debono from his corner kick on the 62nd minute.

On the 84th minute, Mosta managed to score a consolation goal when Birkirkara’s Angus Buhagiar scored an own goal.

Trevor Cilia was voted BOV Player of the Match.
