Floriana edge past Tarxien Rainbows

Floriana scored the first goal to take the lead on the 18^th minute. Off a Christian Cassar freekick, Tarxien’s goalkeeper David Cassar deflected the ball into his own net.

Tarxien Rainbows equalised on the 23^rd minute thanks to a penalty. Daniel Mariano Bueno was brought down inside the penalty area. Referee Malcolm Spiteri immediately pointed to the penalty spot. Daniel Mariano Bueno made not mistake from the spot.

On the 52^nd minute Floriana regained the lead. Ivan Woods served Boris Odwong who then beat goalkeeper David Cassar with his low shot to make the score 2-1.

In added time, Stefan Giglio almost equalized with his great effort but Floriana’s goalkeeper Manuel Debono performed a great save to make sure Floriana took home all three points.
