Sliema leave it late to defeat Floriana

Sliema Wanderers defeated Floriana 1-0 to move up to join Hibernians in second place in the BOV Premier League standings.

As the two teams had not managed to score any goals in the first half, Sliema would end the first 45 minutes with one man being sent off. Ryan Grech was sent off for receiving two yellow cards.

The second half would also see Floriana goalkeeper William Amamoo sent off for handling the ball outside the area.

Sliema managed to score the only goal of the match on the 74th minute. A powerful shot by Jackson Lima was not held by Manuel Bartolo to have Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza pick up the rebound and score.

Jean Pierre Mifsud was voted BOV Player of the Match.
