Inter humiliated by minnows Novara

Inter coach Gian Piero Gasperini could be on his way out after Inter fell to a humiliating 3-1 loss against Novara yesterday evening.

Gasperini’s side are still without a win this season and it looks as Inter President Massimo Moratti has had enough.

Inter old boy, Riccardo Meggiorini, scored the opening goal in the 38th minute before Marco Rigoni secured the win with two late strikes, with Esteban Cambiasso's goal proving a mere consolation as Andrea Ranocchia saw red for a professional foul.

After the match Inter President Massimo Moratti was not happy at all and admitted the coach has lost total control of the team.

“Gian Piero Gasperini doesn’t have the team in hand. I’ll take the night to decide.”

“Has Gasperini got the team in hand? After this game, I’d say definitely not.”

The president even had a tussle with some Novara supporters after they shouted that he was ‘running away.’

“I am here, I’m not running anywhere. Why would I run away? You were superior, I know, nobody is saying you weren’t.”

The Italian press has already started speculating on who will be replacing Gasperini before the end of the week.

The man in pole position according to replace Gasperini is Claudio Ranieri.

Ranieri helped Roma get back on their feet in the 2009 season while almost winning the Serie A Championship.

Claudio Ranieri is very experienced in handling Europe’s biggets teams as the Italian manager has coached Napoli, Fiorentina, Valencia, Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, Parma, Juventus and Roma.
