Valletta remain top after victory over Tarxien

Tarxien Rainbows remain second from the bottom of the standings with only five points.

Valletta managed to take the lead on the 18^th minute when a cross by Ousseni Zongo found Denni Rocha dos Santos who then beat goalkeeper David Cassar with his shot.

Tarxien did not wait long to equalise as on the 26^th minute, Adrian Carabott had a good solo effort that saw him dribble past a defender and beat Andrew Hogg with his shot.

The match turned upside down for Tarxien on the 53^rd minute when they were reduced to ten-men. Cai Garcia Suguino was given a controversial second yellow card for simulation.

Valletta made it 2-1 on the 63^rd minute. Dyson Falzon served Ousseni Zongo whose shot beat the Tarxien goalkeeper.

Just two minutes later Valletta took command of the match as they made it 3-1. Dyson Falzon served Denno Rocha dos Santos to have the latter beat David Cassar with his rising shot.

Dennis Rocha dos Santos topped off a fantastic match after he scored Valletta’s fourth goal to make it 4-1 on the 87^th minute. Some fine work by Gilbert Agius and Alfred Effiong set up the play for Denni,  the latter concluded by beating Cassar with his shot from close range.

Denni Roacha dos Santos was voted BOV Player of the Match.
