Sliema and Mqabba share the spoils

Sliema had a great chance to go ahead at the beginning of the match when Jeremiah Ani's header hit the ground and bounced just over the cross bar.

On the 5^th minute, Sliema managed to take the lead when when Roderick Bajada's freekick beat goalkeeper Kris Calleja.

Mqabba had to wait till the 69^th minute to score the equaliser. Off a corner kick by Bojan Mamic, Thiago dos Santos Mazzitelli headed the ball in past goalkeeper Henry Bonello.

Thiago dos Santos Mazzitelli was voted BOV Player of the Match.

With this result Sliema remain in sixth place and Mqabba move up to eighth place in the BOV Premier Leage standings.
