Hibernians humiliate Birkirkara

Hibernians dominated the entire match scoring two goals in the first half and three in the second.

Hibernians managed to take the lead on the 23^rd minute off a free kick from Clayton Failla, Marcelo Dias headed the ball past goalkeeper Jorge Mora to give his team the lead.

Hibernians had to wait till added time in the first half to double the score. Adrew Cohen served Edward Herrera who made no mistake in finding the back of the net.

Luck was not on Birkirkara's side when substitute Terence Vella hit the crossbar ten minutes into the second half.

Hibernians scored their third goal on the 68^th minute. Off a Clayton Failla cross, Edison Luis dos Santos made no mistake with his precise header to beat goalkeeper Jorge Mora.

Hibernians were unstoppable now when just three minutes later, A powerful shot by Clayton Failla left no chance for the Birkirkara goalkeeper.

Birkirkara had a chance to score a consolation goal when they were awarded a penalty, but goalkeeper Mario Muscat saved Trevor Cilia's shot.

In stoppage time, Hibernians scored their fifth goal of the game. Edison Luis dos Santos dribbled the ball past goalkeeper Jorge Mora to then pass the ball to Andrew Cohen who then made sure he found the back of the net with his shot.

Tension was high throughout the match as Andrew Decesare, Marcelo Dias and Rodrigo Pereira were all sent off.

Clayton Failla was voted BOV Player of the Match.
